NAVIGATION GUIDE

I. OBJECTIVES

What is a Web Navigation Guide for?

To make accessing the information easier.

Given the vast amount of information published and maintained on the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade's (hereinafter, "MITyC") website, the purpose of this guide is to make it easier for visitors to navigate the site: http://www.observatorioprecios.es.

The guide will contain and define:

  • The navigation design and the different areas of the screen.
  • The content structure.
  • The development criteria as regards compliance with standards and accessibility.

II. AREAS OF THE SCREEN AND NAVIGATION

The following sections can be defined based on the distribution of the information on the Price Observatory home page:

Website home page 

  1. Logos of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade and the State Secretariat for Trade, with links to their web pages and top toolbar with links to content in different languages and content search engine for searching by keyword. The different help options include: Navigation Guide, Accessibility, Legal Notice and Contact Us.
  2. Access to browsing options for the portal.
  3. Access to browsing options for the portal.
  4. Links to comercio.mityc.es, W3C and other highlighted sites.

Below is a description of the page which displays information on the studied product families for different establishments, indicating which is the most economical and which is the most expensive for the selected city.The following new sections can be defined:

Information page on families of products for a specific city 

  1. Menu of available options in the portal.
  2. Map of Spain to select a province.
  3. Drop-down menu to select a city.
  4. Chosen city in the province selected from the map.
  5. Indicates the establishments with the highest and lowest price index for each product family. You can access the information on all the establishments in the selected city that are included in the study for the last quarter by clicking on the family.
  6. Access georeferencing: Displays the location of the establishments on GoogleMaps.
  7. "Back" button to return to the previous page.

You can access the options for filtering by City or Spain to be able to search for information on the price observatory, through the results menu.  The new sections are described below:

  1. Select the quarter to search.
  2. Select the product family you wish to search.
  3. Format of the data group.
  4. Price evolution indicator to be searched.
  5. "OK" button to access the results of the selected enquiry using the above criteria.

III. STANDARDS AND ACCESSIBILITY

Pursuant to the Information Society Services and e-Commerce Act, we are working to improve accessibility of the Trade website.

The World Wide Web Consortium - W3C Standards

All pages on the official Price Observatory site (www.observatorioprecios.es) comply with all the priority 3 checkpoints (level AA conformance) defined in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG ) by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI ) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
